Understanding the curriculum

• GOV.UK — Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  The official framework every nursery and Reception class in England follows. If you want to know what “school readiness” actually means, start here.

  Free games and videos matched to the EYFS, made by the BBC.

Phonics

  Free, research-backed maths activities for young children.

  A free app schools recommend for quick daily number practice.

Fine motor skills & writing

• NHS — Physical activity guidelines for under-5s
  Official guidance on the movement and play that builds writing muscles.

  The UK's largest parenting community; honest threads on starting school and helping at home.
